Hi all: due to the nature of things I am discontinuing this site and moving it to Tumblr. Tumbr is a far easier site to manage, letting me post directly from my iphone. I take all pics with my iphone only and post directily from the phone.
I hope you wont mind the change, its all for the better. You can follow the site here

The House of the Lord... Phoenix Arizona Temple
Construction has finally started (I think), and the attempt will be made to capture the progress of our next Temple in photos. Every 2 weeks I will go to the site in north Phoenix and take a few shots to show its growth. You can subscribe to this blog which will let you know when a new set of pictures is submitted. I'm no construction guy, just a member wanting to watch this temple constructed and to feel of it's spirit during this process. Won't you join me and leave a comment if you like.

Cloudy, Rainy but going forth...
Temple Visitor's Center during the construction period. |
This opening is on the extreme south side of the lot. They are planning a looking area (wooden porch) to view the construction from this point. |

Missionary couple assigned:
Today was just a beautiful day for a short trip to the new temple site. Met the new Elder couple missionaries assigned to the visitors center on the property. They hail from San Diego and are Bro and Sis Winchell. They actually have a daughter serving her mission in the Glendale area. I will grab some photos of them next week as she (Sister Winchell) was not there today.
This is the visitors center on west side of the enterence.
Grading, grading and more grading. Looking NW
There is going to be lots of traffic around the temple in the upcoming weeks as they are starting to remove dirt, more grading and such. Elder Winchell advised members and visitors who want to come out to do so after 4pm. or to just wait another few weeks. Looks like things are finally going to start happening.

Please bare with me
My computer is down and I uploaded these three pics with my iPad, which is somewhat limited or more like operator error.
Anyways had a nice chat this morning with the super and he told me that pretty much nothing will be happening
until after November Conference. The grounds are graded level and ready to begin.
There are two new portable buildings up on the south side which will be used for missionary work and a mini visitors center.
Elder missionary couples have been assigned to this location and I will meet them next week.
Keep the faith people, I have a feeling when this all starts it will be a whirlwind. Just let yourself get sucked it...
Best to all, Pete

Dirt and more dirt:
Hi everyone: It's been a couple of months since the temple dedication and as expected not a whole lot is going on. They are getting the grounds ready, grading, digging etc. Some people would just say this is just dirt, I say I'm standing on holy ground, something is happening here... you can just feel it.
There is a wall now around the entire property so taking photos will be a challenge, but fear not, if there's a will... Anywho, enjoy the pics and I'll check back in a few weeks. Also for those who enjoy a good tractor photo, I got one for ya... Pete
